Construction is starting June 17 in Midtown. Read below for information about parking, what RTC and SNC are doing to help advertise midtown businesses, and the many ways to receive project information during construction.

Upcoming Community Meetings
The project team is hosting two community meetings on June 13 and June 20. Stop by The Saint at 9 am and learn more.
Please share these meetings with your fellow business owners. They are an opportunity to receive valuable project information and ask the project team questions.

- June 13: Community Meeting, 9 a.m. at the Saint, 761 S Virginia Street in Reno. City of Reno Design Review Committee will also meet following this meeting.

Project Public Information Office Opens on Thursday
Beginning June 13, a project public information office will be open on Virginia Street for another way the community can learn about the project throughout construction. The office will provide people the opportunity to speak with a project representative in person, look at renderings and maps, and ask questions about the project. The office will be located on Virginia Street between The Z Bar and Theatre Book Store. Construction operations are scheduled to begin June 17.

June 13-27:
- Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Starting July 1:
- Tuesdays between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
- Thursdays between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

CONSTRUCTION NEWS
Midtown Traffic Control Beginning June 17
Starting June 17, construction begins on Virginia Street between Plumb Lane and Liberty Street and nine side streets. Construction on Tahoe St., St. Lawrence Ave., Moran St., E. Taylor St., Martin St. and Caliente St. will take place between June and September 2019. Construction on Stewart St., Cheney St., and Arroyo St. will take place between August and October 2019. No two consecutive side streets will be closed at the same time. Watch the new traffic control video here.

The RTC and SNC are supporting Midtown businesses and bringing more people to Midtown during construction. The project team is offering Midtown businesses an opportunity to receive one week of radio advertising – FREE.
There is no cost to participate. Beginning the week of June 17, 2019 and every week during construction, the business with the most customer posts on Facebook and Instagram using #VirginiaStreetProject will receive a free week of advertising on Lotus Radio. RTC Midtown Business Videos
RTC is partnering with businesses and Yelp to create professional-quality videos of Midtown businesses. Videos will capture the eclectic and unique vibe of Midtown and will be distributed throughout social media and paid advertising outlets. Videos will focus on each zone of construction: Zone 1 Virginia St. from Mt. Rose Street to Plumb Lane and side streets; Zone 2, Virginia Street from Mt. Rose Street to Center Street; and Zone 3, Virginia Street from Center Street to Liberty Street. More details coming soon! These videos will be shared with Midtown businesses for their use and distribution through their social media channels.

Lyft Partnership: 50% Off Trips TO Midtown
The project team is providing another option for people to visit their favorite Midtown businesses during construction by partnering with Lyft to offer a 50-percent-off coupon, up to $10 off, to any rider going INTO Midtown.

The code is valid for trips into the Midtown area within the construction zone. The code is valid for trips originating from anywhere in our community that is outside of the Midtown District.
