Virginia Street Project Weekly Update | October 2, 2020

Beginning on Tuesday morning October 13 at 6 am, drivers on I-580 northbound from Mill Street to the spaghetti bowl will see a new traffic configuration.  All northbound traffic will be shifted to the east (right) side of I-580 northbound between Mill Street and the spaghetti bowl with a reduction in lanes.  Currently drivers headed north on I-580 stay left to access U.S. 395 northbound and use right lanes for local access to Mill Street, Glendale Avenue and the spaghetti bowl.  The new configuration will be in place until November as crews progress with construction.
To prepare for the traffic shift, I-580 northbound and I-80 west will be Closed at the spaghetti bowl on Sunday night October 11 from 11 pm until Monday morning, October 12 at 4 am and Monday night, October 12 at 11 pm until Tuesday morning, October 13 at 4 am.  To access U.S. 395 northbound and I-80 west, use I-80 eastbound to Rock Boulevard off-ramp.  Turn left to access I-80 westbound and U.S. 395 northbound.

Drivers will also see nightly lane reductions on northbound I-580 from Mill Street to the spaghetti bowl on October 7, 8, 11 and 12 from 9 pm to 6 am.
