Senator Cortez Masto Visits Midtown to Celebrate FTA $40.4M Allocation
On Thursday, April 18, U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto received a briefing about the Virginia Street Project from RTC staff, followed by a tour of Midtown Reno. These events were a result of the announcement of a $40.4 million allocation from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).
The allocation signals a significant step on the path toward obtaining a grant agreement for the Virginia Street Bus RAPID Transit Extension Project from the FTA under the Capital Investment Grants Program which provides funding for major federal transit infrastructure capital investments nationwide that will improve mobility and access for the businesses, workforce, and university students who depend on public transit every day.
Welcome Whisky Lounge to Midtown
Celebrate Reno’s newest libation sensation, the Whisky Lounge in Midtown! Located conveniently next to Brauhaus 701, the new Whisky Lounge features a variety of whisky and craft cocktails and will be celebrating their grand opening on Friday, April 26. Musical entertainment will be provided by Kevin Keith for a chapman stick performance at 7 p.m. and Dan Rooney for funky DJ tunes starting at 8 p.m. Be sure to join them for grand opening specials and to help welcome them to the Midtown neighborhood.
Midtown and Murals Food Tour
Celebrate Reno’s newest libation sensation, the Whisky Lounge in Midtown! Located conveniently next to Brauhaus 701, the new Whisky LoungEnjoy the beautiful Spring weather by taking a food tour through Midtown! Experience Midtown’s unique culture while savoring food from six locally owned eateries in Reno Food Tours’ Midtown and Murals Tour. Tours are hosted every Wednesday and Friday at 1:30 p.m. and last approximately 2.5 – 3 hours. During the tour, attendees get to indulge in six tastings, snacks and bites, discover the vivid personalities of Midtown’s food, art and cultural scene, and experience the many murals in Midtown and learn about the artists and their inspiration.
